Comfy Bed
Posted by suesam on September 18, 2007
The first and, so far, only time I have been re-enacting was in August, when I accepted an invitation to join my sister and brother-in-law at the Kelmarsh Festival of History in Northamptonshire. I have to say it was with some trepidation that I joined them as I haven’t been camping for at least 30 years! My fears were confirmed on the first night, as I crawled into the tent borrowed from my sister, cold, damp and running with condensation. The air bed had a slow puncture, and I intensely dislike sleeping in sleeping bags, so my misery was complete. However everything else about the weekend was wonderful, so I announced that I would be joining them next year, but with a tent I could stand up in (see below), and a ‘Comfy Bed’!
eBay is wonderful, first my tent (peanuts), and now my ‘Comfy Bed’ (even fewer peanuts):
A little on the large side I hear you say… Mmm, yes! I have to confess to wondering just how I’m going to get it in the car! But never mind, cosy camping nights here I come!
I left the mattress out in the sun to air. With predictable consequences!
Just look at that look of insolence and defiance! He gets it from my kids!
